About Amanda Hardy, CEO FunctionZ

Experience & Vision

Amanda Hardy is a native Texan form Katy, Texas. Amanda graduated from Katy High School in 1998, then continued her education at the University of Houston-Downtown. Graduating with a Bachelors of Business Administration, Majoring in Marketing and minoring in Management.

In September of 2010 the creation of FunctionZ was established. With a vision was to help non profit organizations and B2B companies host events to raise funds for philanthropies all while selling & promoting the events to supporters. This is where Amanda adds value and growth for her clients. She not only is an event manager but she helps her clients with budgets, sponsorship's & partnership growth, digital marketing, targeting the right audience & ensure their attendance at events, adding a professional and fun atmosphere for the attendees so they keep coming back all while managing the operations and resources for each event.  

To date she has helped raise over $1,000,000 in philanthropy efforts for her clients.

Amanda started her career at Hitachi Power Tools as a Field Sales Representative. It was at Hitachi that her love for event planning started. Being a rep for a Power Tool company required customer relationship building, sales acumen and   organization skills. At Hitachi Amanda earned "Rookie of the Year" by organizing an massive event that encompassed B2B partners and customers. She demonstrated the leadership it takes to bring together so many different parties and target audiences to attract attendees. 

Amanda then had a career change opportunity to transition into the Automation Industry working for a SCADA software & Systems Integration  company, Intech Process Automation. It was here Amanda became the Membership Director for the ISA Houston Section to continue her learning journey and educate herself about the automation Industry. While the membership director of ISA she contributed to all the scholarship fundraising events.  

An opportunity came along to enhance her knowledge of advanced  automation software solutions and she then joined Aspen Technology. While at AspenTech she enhanced her knowledge of process optimization offerings, managing training sales &  courses across Americas. Coordinating and selling these efforts to existing and new customers made her realize her passion for events once again.
